lifting "waits"
"Now He waits until His enemies are made His footstool." —Hebrews 10:13
If you think you have waited a long time for something, look at Jesus seated "forever at the right hand of God" (Heb 10:12). He has waited for almost two thousand years for His enemies to be placed beneath His feet. Because this is our job, Jesus has been waiting for us for about two millennia. Let's not keep Jesus waiting any longer.
The first person we must place at Jesus' feet is ourselves. We do this by repenting of our sins and accepting Jesus as Lord of every detail of our lives. When we have decided to be completely under Jesus' authority, we then have the authority to destroy every stronghold, argument, and proud pretension which oppose Christ (2 Cor 10:4-6, NAB). Under Christ's authority, we can make every thought captive to Christ and put many of Jesus' enemies at His feet (2 Cor 10:5). In obedience to the Lord, we can see the Lord even quickly crush Satan under our feet (Rm 16:20).
Jesus has been waiting for our love, total obedience, and victory. Let's not keep Him waiting longer.
Prayer: Father, I'm sorry to keep You waiting.
Promise: "Those sown on rich soil are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit thirty and sixty and a hundredfold." —Mk 4:20
